Property Manager - Maryann Starn
Maryann has a broad range of experience in the property management of commercial real estate.

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Maryann was with PM Realty Group in Sacramento, California, where she was property manager of Sutter Health’s corporate offices. Her assignment in Sacramento included management of a portfolio of medical office and commercial mid-rise office properties also owned by Sutter Health. After relocating back to the Bay Area she took over management of 1255 Post Street, a redevelopment project purchased by California Pacific Medical Center in 2004.

Prior to joining PM Realty Group, Maryann was with Compass Management and Leasing where she was the assistant property manager of 1Front Street, a 608,000 square foot high-rise office building in San Francisco. In this position, she was responsible for operations, staff development and tenant improvements. Her previous experience was with Paragon Group where she was property manager for various properties including high-rise and mid-rise office, medical office and retail centers. She also oversaw the operations of 44 retail strip centers with over 300 tenants.

Maryann is currently enrolled in Golden Gate University’s Degree program. She has her California real estate salesperson’s license and has received her Real Property Administration (RPA) designation through the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI). She is also an active member of Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and is past Treasurer for the Sacramento chapter.

In her spare time, Maryann enjoys gardening, reading and hiking.

Tenant Services Coordinator - Jennifer Stewart
Jennifer first became involved in Property Management working as a Telecommunications Project Manager and Technician in 2000. She worked for two companies that managed the telecommunications infrastructures in many buildings in the Financial District, as well as the Oakland City Center and South San Francisco.

In 2005 she joined Cushman & Wakefield at 455 Market Street. It was there that Jennifer acquired most of her knowledge pertaining to the tenant services coordinator position. Her prior knowledge of operations and project management made the transition a smooth one, and enabled her to be an asset to the team. She is very excited to be an integral part of the team at 685 Market, and is looking forward to entering the Real Property Administrator program (RPA) through the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI).

Jennifer is also an artist and athlete, and enjoys being able to express her creativity through these outlets. She most recently completed the AIDS Life Cycle in June, and looks forward to snowboarding this winter. Jennifer is also looking forward to her next art show where she will display her most recent abstract paintings.

Building Engineer - Jim Carter

Jim Carter is a life-long bay area resident, born and raised in the beautiful city of Martinez.

Jim graduated from Alhambra High in 1966 and immediately began work managing automotive repair shops. In early 1982 Jim made a move into the field of engineering and building maintenance when he began work at the Leamington Plaza Building in Oakland.

In 1988 Jim moved to the Monadnock Building just after its complete seismic retrofit. Since then, Jim has become a fixture at this building, and is known and loved by the tenants, management, and the professionals he works with to keep the building in top repair. 2006 marks his 18th consecutive year with the building.

Mr. Carter continues to challenge himself with learning and growth opportunities, taking classes and obtaining valuable training. He recently earned a Fire Safety Director Certification through the Fire Fighter’s Union Local 39.

In his spare time Jim enjoys collecting antique pottery and hopes to make it his business after his retirement from engineering.
